The fife and drum corps of the Roosevelt Post of Spanish-American War Veterans took part in the parade which started at Pico and Broadway and surged down Broadway to City Hall. More than 3000 soldiers, Marines, WACS, including crack troops from Camp Pendleton, marched in the pageant. Photo dated: April 7, 1949.
