Description
Dora Levy Mossanen discusses her book, “Harem.” She begins by explaining that the book takes place in ancient Persia. In the book she explores how women during this time possessed extraordinary power despite their low social status. Mossanen explores the way mothers in the book try to achieve their dreams through their daughters. She goes on to discuss her own experiences being a woman in Iran and the strength of character that one needed to succeed. Later in the interview Mossanen shares how Beverly Hills and Los Angeles have one of the largest Iranian populations outside of Iran.
