Description
Mike Shane, 11, standing at left, student council president at Loyola Village School in Playa del Rey, welcomes some of 82 pupils from Manchester Avenue School who were transferred to Loyola. A total of 151 students from two predominantly "Negro" schools were transported to two all-white schools without an incident. Photo dated: February 4, 1964.
