Photograph caption dated December 23, 1959 reads, "Lassie and her TV master, Jon Provost, pay call on Santa Claus to help Volunteers of America bring Christmas to needy, homeless and friendless. Lassie has just dropped her $1 bill into Santa's sidewalk chimney like Jon is doing here. Santa's assistants are asking in annual appeal that everyone give generously 'so no one will be forgotten.'"
