As reported in the Palos Verdes Bulletin (May 1926, p. 2), "The children of Palos Verdes, their parents, teachers and friends, aided by members of the Board of Education, celebrated Arbor Day on April 20th, by planting Oriental Plane Trees on the Malaga Cove School grounds."
