Description
The Glendale & Eagle Rock Railway Company was established in 1909 and ran a mere two miles, primarily on Colorado Boulevard between Glendale and what was then the city of Eagle Rock. The short route led to it being nicknamed “the Eagle Rock dinky.” The line was later expanded and renamed the Glendale & Montrose Railway and was the only electric trolley line in the region to operate independently of the dominant Pacific Electric and Los Angeles Railways. It ceased operation in 1930.
View of parked trolley cars. The one in front is labeled "Glendale & Eagle Rock Ry. Co." and has "Los Angeles" on the front. The trolley behind it appears to be part of the Los Angeles Railway Company.
