Photograph caption dated May 6, 1961 reads "Sunland Playground's new $135,162 clubhouse was officially opened to the public Thursday with city officials on hand to dedicate the facility. Left to right are Dr. Mitchell Wyman, Sunland Coordinating Council; George Hjelte, general manager, Los Angeles City Recreation and Park Department, and Harvey Wertz, field secretary to Councilman Everett C. Burkhalter. The clubhouse is at 8701 Foothill Blvd."
