Photograph caption date stamped May 7, 1964 reads "John Sato of Valley College, shown before race in recent meet, will be a key man in Valley's plans when the Monarch Swimming team competes in the State J.C. meet at Bakersfield College Thursday through Saturday. Sato won three first places last week in the All-Southern California J.C. meet."
