Description
Connie and Whitney begin the interview describing the main characters in the narrative and the significance of ageing in women. They proceed to talk about being invisible in one’s own life and relationships, and how commitment makes up an important component of the book, before reflecting on the title of the book. Connie and Whitney then consider Whitney’s own life and how much of it weaves into the story, and the gender differences between men and women in America as it pertains to the aging process. Connie has Whitney read a section from the book and they discuss her future projects and the mentorship she received while at the University of California, Irvine. Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
