Description
Photograph of a drawing of Mission San Rafael as it appeared in 1831, by Edward Vischer, 1878. The adobe mission buildings can be seen at center. A tall tower, possibly housing bells, can be seen on the left side of the structure. A cross tops this tower. Small huts are visible at left, while a low, brush-covered hill can be seen in the foreground at right. More hills are visible in the background. The drawing was done from recollection of General Vallejo.
