Description
A circa 1924 matchbook from the Senator Hotel following the completion of its construction in 1924, located on 12th and L street. The hotel was designed by Kenneth MacDonald, who collaborated with G. Albert Lansburgh who mirrored the architectural design of the Farnese Palace in Rome, Italy. Due to its location near the State Capitol Building, the hotel was a popular place to host legislator and state lobbyist meetings. The Senator Hotel also hosted Presidents; Warren Harding, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Jimmy Carter.
