Photograph caption dated December 1, 1927 reads, "Lincoln high school already has won two of the extemporaneous oratorical contests sponsored by The Evening Herald, and another victory tomorrow night will give the Railsplitters the big silver herald trophy "for keeps." This photo shows Robley Williams when he won the trophy for Lincoln and an individual cup for himself last year and was hoisted in triumph on the shoulders of his elated classmates. Will Shapiro make history repeat itself tomorrow night?"
