Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated December 8, 1963 reads, "C. E. Pearson shows the copper portrait of John F. Kennedy which he is sending to Mrs. Kennedy as his personal honor to the slain president. Person worked from a small campaign photo, scribing the outline on copper and pressing the features out from the reverse side. He believes he is the only artist using this technique at present time."
