Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of Central Park and the surrounding buildings, Los Angeles, 1872. The rectangular park is at center and is full of closely spaced trees and bushes. A large church is visible in the foreground at left, while the steeples of several more churches can be seen in the background. The roofs of many small houses dot the landscape, and a large, three-story brick building is at left. In addition to the trees in the park, many trees are mixed in with the buildings. Central Park was later re-named Pershing Square.
