Description
Originally named Boulder Dam, it was renamed Hoover Dam in 1946. Here we are looking at the Colorado River flowing through Boulder Canyon at what would be the future site of Hoover Dam. The view looks downstream at the Black Rock site. The river is about 280 feet wide at this point.
