Photograph caption dated January 6, 1965 reads, "A series of bridge luncheons has been planned by Mrs. Don Walter, Encino Woman's Club ways and means chairman. Mrs. Ty Jurras is chairman of these events to be held Jan. 11, 12 and 13. Practice session for event is held by, from left, Mmes. Jurras, Robert E. Dillon, Kenneth Cochems and H. C. Bauman. Reservations may be made by telephoning Mrs. Jurras or any of the five hostesses. Mrs. Cochems will open her home Jan. 11 and on Jan. 12 Mrs. Dominic Amara and Mrs. Donald Baruth will each entertain. Final parties will be given by Mrs. Walter and Mrs. George King Jan. 13. Each of the hostesses will be aided by a committee on her own choice. Luncheon will be served at noon followed by bridge or canasta. There will be a prize for high score at each table. Proceeds from these events will be added to the building fund for the rennovation [sic] of the clubhouse at 4924 Paso Robles Ave. Plans for this have been approved and the actual work will begin in the near future."
