Description
At four years of age, Francette went to live with her father and step-mother, who was cruel to her. She attended the Lutheran Church, and later married an atheist, who allowed the sister missionaries into her home. The missionaries insisted she attend the discussions with her husband, as they needed another woman present. She joined the Church along with her husband due to the friendliness of the members and her happiness that her husband had been brought to believe in Christ. The success of her children is very important to her. Her favorite scriptures concern Lehi and the advice he gave his children. She has learned to criticisms of members and thinks there will be a black prophet someday in the future. She cites LDS differences with Malagasy culture as including monetary gifts to bereaved families, animal sacrifice and prayers to ancestors at the birth of a child. She endorses Family History and temple work.
