Photograph caption dated April 30, 1962 reads "Some 200 San Fernando Valley Council Boy Scouts will compete for trophies at the council's rifle match May 12. The match will be held on the Foresters' Range, Filmore St. north of Foothill Blvd., Pacoima. Readying for the shoot are, from left, David Deyell, North Hollywood; Leland Auer, Sherman Oaks, and Ross Taylor, Van Nuys. Scout officials explain the shoot is not only for marksmanship, but also aimed at teaching rifle safety."
