Description: View is looking north from Western Avenue. Fountain Avenue overpass is the first cross street in this view from Western Avenue. Nearby is a pump house which will rid the below-street-level highway from excess water during storms. Otherwise, during a downpour, this section of the freeway would look like a street in Venice--a canal! explained one of the workmen. Photo dated: March 14, 1953.
