Photograph caption dated May 29, 1959 reads, "The only ride of its kind anywhere, the new Space Wheels at Pacific Ocean Park in Santa Monica offer a unique view of the California coastline from a vantage point over 90 feet high at the top. The breathtaking ride will be one of many new attractions at POP when it reopens today."
