Description
Photograph also used for an article dated May 17, 1989.
Photograph caption dated May 7, 1980 reads, "It's the day before game 2 of the NBA championship and practices are dead serious. Well, maybe for some teams, but not for the Lakers at Loyola-Marymount yesterday. Coach Paul Westhead gives instruction and the players' response is cool and casual. And those dreaded calisthenics? Magic Johnson and Kareem take them with a smile. The practice was not too serious, not too loose. As Magic likes to say, it must be 'winnin time.'"
