Description
Workers completing the third unit of Philip K. Wrigley's tree planting program on Santa Catalina Island on April 9, 1935. Steam shovels, caterpillar tractors and night-and-day shifts of workmen are transforming the northern end of Crescent Avenue overnight into an exotic olden golden California paradise, where the olive and the palm invite to rest and recreation and letting the world go by.
