Description
Photograph of a view of Western Avenue looking north from Expostion Boulevard, 1924. Automobiles make their way back and forth down the paved road at center, a florist's van moving away in the righthand lane. Brick commercial buildings line the street to either side, along with utility poles. To the right, a two-story brick building has been vacated and brandishes a "For Rent" sign just outside its door. A dividing line is visible down the center of the road. Legible signs from left to right read: "Card & Schwarz Reality Co.", "Double Bungalow", "Croy", "Quality Laundry", "Eat", "Wizard Service Station", "Hal Malone Gasoline Deluxe", "Tailoring, Cleaning, Pressing", "33x4 Oversize Cords, $13.50", "30x3 1/2 Heavy Non Skid, $6.50", and "34x4 1/2 Oversize Cords, $17.50".
