"Chiang Belts of T. T. and U. U. Museum May 20, '34. D. S. Dye, Chengtu [now Chengdu] W ChinaPlate 87(place this below)Two pieces under 'plate 87' Really two ends of same belt. 'a' + 'a'' are the two ends of the same belt.'h'' and 'i'' are turned over so that 'h'' shows one side of one ends and 'h'' shows the other side of the other end.a' b' c' d' e' f' g' h' i'' "THESE BELTS AT U. of PA. MUSEUM." Native belts on display.
Daniel S. Dye was a faculty member at West China Union University who traveled widely in west China to gather examples of woven handiwork and lattice patterns.
