Description: This circa 1976 image provides a wide view of the Sylvan Oaks Branch of the Sacramento County Library, located at 6700 Auburn Boulevard. With its opening in late-1975, the branch sought to offer, as stated in a promotional document, “a large children’s area, community reading room, study and typing booths, copying facilities, and extensive audio visual equipment.” The branch’s inaugural hours were Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM; Friday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; and Saturday: 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
