Photograph caption dated August 22, 1959 reads, "Old-fashioned values, commemorating the days when the dollar went further, will be the keynote of the big 30th anniversary Dollar Day to be observed in North Hollywood Friday, Aug 28. The sales committee of the Retail Merchants Committee of the North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring the event, held a meeting in costume to get into the spirit of the sale. Here they are, gaily attired, planning the special values North Hollywood will offer the public on that gala day. Honor guest, extreme left, is Fred Weddington. Committee, left to right, Stella Stinchcomb, Frances Brewer and Helen Ward. The handsome gentleman in upper rear with whiskers askew in Roger Pickett, beside Len Berghahl."
