Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated June 10, 1963 reads "Three students at Mount Gleason Junior High School in Sunland prepare to launch a helium-filled balloon lifting a capsule containing scientific instruments as part of a meteorological-atmospheric probe conducted by the school's Science Club and senior science classes. Students tracked the balloon's progress by means of radio and visual instruments located at three different sites near the school. The project was one in a series of five atmospheric probes carried out by the science classes at the school."
