Photograph article dated October 12, 1960 partially reads, "They may not realize it, but most of the television viewers across the country have seen at least a part of Studio City, the South San Fernando Valley community which grew up around the movie studio Mack Sennett built in 1928. The walks, where once his curvy bathing beauties strutted, today lead bearded cowboys, reel detectives and their 36-24-36 co-stars to sound stages where many TV series are filmed. The hills, which once echoed laughter created by the Keystone Cops, today listen to the sounds created by 27,000 people, a busy business district and traffic headed north or west to the inner Valley or south into Hollywood and Los Angeles. As in the four communities west of Studio City, Ventura boulevard is the community's main business district. Between the ready-to-wear shops, the financial institutions, service stations and other establishments which make up a commercial district, are some of the Valley's finest restaurants and night spots. Photograph caption reads, "An actual aerial view of Studio City's studio, Republic, street at lower left is Ventura Boulevard."; See images #00121979, 00031115, 00121980, and 00122041 for all photos in this series.
