Description
Adolph Sutro, in profile, with example of his autograph. An engineer, his work in mines on the Comstock Lode made him a millionaire. Sutro was a mayor of San Francisco. Sutro accumulated an impressive private collection of books; in 1917, the California State Library used this collection to form the Sutro Library.
