In the front a European man, behind him two persons in hammocks being carried by two African men each, a European child carried on someone's shoulders, a European woman, a European man on a mule and African carriers with burdens. The Europeans on the photo possibly members of the Rother(?) and Guth(?) families. Wilhelm Guth (1888-1980), from Zeiskam in the Rhineland Palatinate, studied commerce before joining the Leipzig Mission as a pastor. He served in Gonja (southern Pare) from 1913 to 1917 and from 1927 to 1938.
