A Los Angeles Times article dated July 9, 1960 partially reads, "The Democratic Platform Committee concluded four days of testimony last night at the Biltmore and announced the names of a 19-member subcommittee to draft the 1960 platform."
Photograph caption dated July 8, 1960 reads, "Mayor Richardson Dilworth of Philadelphia addresses the Democratic platform committee today, urging adoption of a plank recommending establishment of a new federal department of Housing and Urban Affairs to fight narcotics, delinquency."
