Description
Photograph of large statue of Buddha, Veno Park, Tokyo (Tokio), Japan, [s.d.]. In the extreme foreground at center, a barred gate can be seen extending from left to right. Behind the gate, a large statue of Buddha can be seen sitting in a cross-legged position. The hands of the statue meet below its chest with the palms facing upwards. The Buddha is shown wearing a robed garment and an ornamental cap. The eyes of the statue are closed and the lips are frozen in a smiling pose. Small black strips with Japanese characters can be seen on several parts of the statue. These strips decorate the statues left arm, open chest, left-side of the face, and nose. In the background, a large tree is seen to the right.
