Description: Investigators examine wreckage of a small plane that crashed approximately 20 miles north-east of Palmdale. Witnesses said the port wing of the plane fell off in mid-air and the plane spiraled down, crashing near houses at 39000 170 Street, not far from Nichols Farm Airport. Photograph dated May 1, 1978.
