Description
Caption from July 30, 1970 Sacramento Bee reads, "Special Designation: The Dorrington Hotel on Highway 4 some 20 miles east of Angels Camp, now owned by American Forest Properties, has received an historic architecture award from the Calaveras County Historical Society. The structure was built in 1852 and looks the same as it did a century ago when the second story was added. It served as a toll house for travelers going over Ebbetts Pass to Markleeville, Alpine County, and presently serves as a way station for American Forest Properties buyers and sales people. Guests are welcome to tour the building."
