Photograph article dated May 18, 1964 partially reads, "The excited conversational hubbub of 25,000 men, women and children suddenly ceased that sun-filled morning in the great St. Peter Basilica in Rome. A moment later, it rose again in a roaring cheer as His Holiness Pope Paul VI, seated on a portable throne, was borne with regal dignity across the mosaic-inlaid marble floor to the imposing center altar... It was a thrilling moment for some 140 members and associates of the Catholic Press Council of Southern California, a highlight of their pilgrimage to Europe, which concluded last week." Pictured are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lawson of Studio City, surrounded by mementos of their trip to Europe.
