Photograph of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo's painting "The Vision to St. Francis at Porziuncola" at Mission Dolores, ca.1900. Saint Francis is seen in the lower right corner, dressed in the robes of a friar. He has open arms, and is looking up at Jesus and Mary, as well as a host of cherubic angels. There are flowers and flower petals on a step in front of the saint. Murillo lived from 1617-1682 and the painting was done around 1667.
