Description
Plates in: [William I. Harlow journal, 1896-1914], pg. 43. Shows grocery store, sign above reads "Grocery, the last chance." Bicyclists and bicycles on front porch. 2014-2623. William I. Harlow was son of Missouri Methodist preacher, William I. Harlow, and brother of author, Frederic Pease Harlow. William was agent for Wells Fargo in Portland. In Aug. 1897, William and Fred Harlow, and Austen took a five-day cycling trip from Portland to Tillamook. From Tillamook they went up the coast to Ilwaco, Washington where they took ship home to Portland.
