Image of a group of men and women in front of general store owned by George Campton, at the corner of Railroad Avenue and Eighth Street in Newhall, California. "Established 1876. George Campton" is painted on the storefront as well as "Hay & Grain" and "Agency for White sewing machines."
"Newhall, California."--text, handwritten on negative. Title devised by cataloger; date approximated by cataloger based on history of George Campton's store in the Santa Clarita Valley and women's clothing seen in the photograph. George Campton was the Newhall Postmaster from 1877 to 1886.
