"The Fountain of Education" was sculpted by Harry Winebrenner and placed in front of Venice High School, located at 13000 Venice Boulevard. Actress Myrna Loy (nee´ Myrna Williams), a 16 yr. old student at Venice, posed for the top figure. Two other students posed for the kneeling man and seated woman. In 1978, the sculpture was mutilated by vandals with heads and arms removed. They were restored in 1980 by William Van Orden, a Venice painter and sculpture. Photo dated: 1927.
