Photograph caption dated March 17, 1956 reads, "Notre Dame High's ace high and low hurdler, Larry Kane, is seen breezing his way to a blue ribbon in the low hurdles yesterday to help his teammates upset Mt. Carmel in a Catholic League dual meet. Kane also won the highs and is regarded as one of the best timber toppers in school's history."
