Description
Photograph of an exterior view of a tavern in Tuttletown, ca.1930. The ivy invades both stories of the lightly-colored tavern while the sycamore trees obstruct the view of most of the roof on the left. A wire fence separates the yard beneath the sycamores from the dusty road in front. Along the side of the road towards the right many mailboxes are lined against the tavern. Further down on the right a service station and grocery store sit in the shade of more sycamore trees with a sign depicting a winged horse extending from the shingled roof. Picture file card reads "The old tavern is almost hidden behind the ivy and the sycamore tree. At this far end John Edwards sells gas. Before his time, hay and oats were sold at the same place, but not any longer".
