Description
Photograph of an old blind Chemehuevi Indian woman sitting on the ground, ca.1900. She is sitting outside on sandy earth in front of some plants and clothes(?) hanging on a branch in the background. She is wearing a long dotted dress and a scarf over her head. She is barefoot. A few small stones or coals sit in a small pile in front of her. Her left arm crosses her chest as she grasps her right shoulder. Her right hand grasps her right ankle. Both legs are bent. Her left knee is up and her right knee is down.
