Description
2008-1422 PHOTO: SOLANO COUNTY: MARE ISLAND Shows street, buildings and ship moored to dock on Island. Across strait buildings and docks of Vallejo visible. "Topley" -- handwritten in lower left corner. James Topley came to Vallejo in 1852 eventually running drugstore. He was amateur photographer, taking pictures of Vallejo beginning in 1850's. After his death, his sons James Henry and William Henry continued photographing Vallejo into 1920's. $
