Description
Photograph shows the wreck of train No. 16 at Corning, Calif. April 19th about 3:30 A.M. Wreck caused by ties placed on track, supposedly by tramps. One tie picked up by the engine and carried several hundred feet and jammed in switch frog, derailing engine. Engineer Gardiner and fireman escaped with slight injury.
