Description
Dolores Rose talks all about what it was like growing up in Niles from the 30s to the 50s when tract were built and some of the "old timers" moved out. There were stories about what the town was like and that it seemed very isolated and had little happening. Joe's Corner was her favorite place and the kids would go there to get ice cream from the stand out in front of there. She grew up in the Depression era so she talked about the hobos that came in on the. She also talked about World War II and how many men left and others went to work in shipyards, etc. This interview gives a good picture of life in Niles up until it became part of Fremont.
