Photograph caption dated February 2, 1980 reads, "Athletes from Muhammad Ali's amateur sports club carried their protest of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan to The Forum last night, where Soviet athletes competed in The Times Indoor Games. Picketing about an hour before the games' 7:30 p.m. start, 15 to 20 athletes from Ali's Track Club in Santa Monica waved American and Afghanistan flags, and carried placards."
