Caple, Janlee Wong, Jacquelyn McCroskey, Mike Foster, Victor Manalo, Alex Morales, Colleen Friend, Monika White, Mara Levin, Esther Gillies, Teresa deCrescenzo, Helen Maxwell, Annie Kaplan, Dolores I. Rodriguez, Chalini Lopez, Marilyn Flynn, Rino J. Patti, Ellen Dunbar, Rebecca Shaw. ❧ Created to honor and preserve the legacy of the state's extraordinary social work leaders, the Social Work Hall of Distinction inducted six social workers into the Hall: (16:35) Helen Boardman -- social work pioneer advocating protection and treatment of abused children (35:18) Teresa deCrescenzo -- pioneer for the LGBT Community advocating for youth services (47:28) Celeste Strack Kaplan -- Founded El Nido Youth Services devoted to service delivery to families and children (1:00:57) Consuelo Gomes Lopez -- A founder of the Latino Social Work Network and Trabajadores de La Raza advocated for education opportunities for Latino social workers (1:15:06) Rino J. Patti -- Nationally renowned educator and former dean of the USC School of Social Work contributed to the expansion of scholarship in social work and translating research into sound social policy (1:33:41) Ann Shaw - Community activist advocating for women and African Americans former USC School of Social Work Board of Councilors member. ❧ The Hall of Distinction was created in 2002 to honor the contributions of the state's social work leaders and pioneers and preserve their legacies for future generations. These individuals helped shape social welfare with their actions and their ability to inspire others. New nominees whose work is deemed of significant and lasting impact are inducted each year.
