Photograph of a portrait of an engraving of Judge Erskine M. Ross, after 1868. He can be seen from the chest up in an oval. He can be seen wearing a dark buttoned-up jacket, light-colored shirt and bow tie. He has a large walrus moustache. His short straight dark hair is parted on the left, and he is turned slightly to the left. A caption at the bottom reads: "E.M. Ross". Ross came to Los Angeles in 1868 with $68.50 in his pocket. Together with his uncle Captain C.E. Tom, they founded Glendale. They were both Confederate Officers.
