Hearing room in the Federal Building is crowded as the House Committee on Un-American Activities opened a new Communist infiltration hearing, with first day spotlight on Hollywood. Committee Chairman Harold Velde (arrow) and other committeemen are seated before the American flag. Reporters, news photographers and spectators fill the room. KECA-TV camera equipment catches all the action. The station and Herald-Express are co-operating in covering the hearing. Photograph dated: March 23, 1953.
