Photograph article dated December 28, 1962 partially reads, "Many Valley teen-agers are supplementing their education in the three P's - posture, poise and personality. John Robert Powers, the founder of charm schools, says that many of the things he teaches teen-agers are the same bits of advice their parents have long been telling them at home... Although headquarters for John Robert Powers schools is in New York City, Powers spends much of his time in California as there are 12 schools in this area." Photograph caption reads, "The 'S' line in sitting was developed by Powers for his models to use in fashion poses. Here, it is shown by Van Nuys High School student Edith Gottlieb.
